I ride horses and compete in all disciplines, especially dressage, in which the British Team secured a Gold Medal at the Olympics this year with Valegro and Charlotte Dujardin.
Dressage is like “dancing with horses” and requires delicate balance between horse and rider.  Any imbalance in the rider is magnified through the horse and vice-versa.
In order to help my horse balance himself I have to make sure I have no stiffness or weakness in my muscles, and my body is as symmetrical as possible.

Recovery Advice After Back Injury

About a month ago,I injured my iliocostalis lumborum whilst playing tennis. It was so painful that I couldn't play for a further two weeks but managed to do some gentle exercises as shown in an excellent book entitled 'The Anatomy of Stretching'' by Brad Walker.Numerous examples of stretching are expertly illustrated, described and located in this book which helped me overcome my pain and I would advise all my clients that stretching can definitely be of benefit as well as massage in recovering from muscular injuries.
